Dorset Down

The Dorset Down was developed in early C19 by mating Southdown rams with Hampshire Down, Berkshire and Wiltshire ewes. A quick maturing breed it is mainly used as a terminal sire for lamb production.

Fleece and products

The fleece, typical of Downland breeds is used for knitting yarn, rug weaving and felting.
