Breed: JACOB

Immediately recognisable by the black and white fleeces and prominent horns, Jacobs have the lean build of the finest ancient British breeds; both sexes of this breed may bear two, four or even six horns.

Fleece and products

The Jacob fleece, white with black patches, is popular with spinners and weavers, since it may be blended to give various shades of grey. Fleeces average 1.5 - 2.0 kg. And show a range of colouring, crimp and fineness. Jacobs yarn is very popular with handknitters and may be used alone or with white yarn to produce spectacular woven designs.
