Breed: SOUTHDOWN

The smallest of the Down breeds, the Southdown is polled and of a compact, symmetrical build. Traditionally used to produce early lambs.

Fleece and products

The fleece is of high quality, weighing between 2.3 and 3.6 kg., with a staple length of 6 cm. and a count of 54 - 60. It is used to make soft woven and knitted items such as baby clothes and blankets and scarves and stoles.
