Whitefaced Woodland

Originating in the Southern Pennines, the Whitefaced Woodland is one of the largest hill breeds. Both ewes and rams have horns; those of the rams are spectacularly spiralled. The white face and legs are free from wool.

Fleece and products

The average fleece weighs 2.5 kg., has a staple length of 10 - 15 cm. and a count of 50 - 54. The wool is used for handknitting, carpets, tapestries and woven rugs.
