WENSLEYDALE

Wensleydale Sheep

Developed in Yorkshire with the famous Bluecap as ancestor, this, the tallest of British breeds, is renouned for its long, lustrous, fine fleece. The Masham is the result of crossing Swaledale ewes with Wensleydale rams.

Fleece and Products

Often worsted-spun, the wool has great strength and is used to produce luxury yarns for filigree weaves, suiting fabrics, crotchet and knitting. The lustre “locks” embellish felting and embroidery.
